A competition opened to think about the reconversion of the yahata civic hall (kitakyushu) built by Togo Murano. Our team wanted to give back the building to the citizens of Yahata, since they were the ones who protected the building against any demolition. Making an Ortus Conclusus by taking off the roof, keeping the structure, and thinking about a new program making the center of the building as a plazza in true continuity with the exterior streets where different events can be held depending on the seasons and the citizens needs. A work awarded the 2nd prize. In collaboration with Romain Alies, Elsa Lherm Delorme, Selma Sbai and Kenichi Tanoue. 村野藤吾設計の八幡市民会館の改修を目的としたコンペで。この建築が残っているのは地元市民の活動があったからだということを知った私のチームは、市民会館を八幡市民のものとしてもう一度再生できないかと考えた。構造を残し屋根を撤去することで建築の中心に市民のための中庭を作った。様々なイベントが催されるであろう周囲の街路と連続的につながるこの中庭広場は、市民に新しい使われ方を模索させるであろう。
