Ghali Bouayad is a Moroccan born architect awarded a doctorate of fine arts from Tokyo University of The Arts (Ph.D, 2021). He received his M.Arch II at the Paris La Villette architectural school after spending his final year at Kyushu University G.S.D (2015). Ghali Bouayad now lives and practices in Japan, working with architectures, speculative diagrams, mixed realities, drawings, physical models and text, while being concerned In his practice by the notion of ornamentation in the age of postdigital architecture, the impact of technology on aesthetics, crafts and phenomenology.
Between 2015 and 2017 he worked with Les Ateliers Christian De Portzamparc and with Jakob+Macfarlane in Paris. And since then, he has exhibited internationally and received multiple awards for his work: at Itabashi Art Studio, Tokyo (2018); the 2nd prize for the reconversion of the Yahata Civic Hall (2015, Japan); the Japanese Monbukagakushou Fellowship, (2017-2021); the Architectural Institute of Japan jury prize for the Ginza Architectural Grand Prix, (2018); and in 2020 the A-And-A Corp オアシス Research Grant and has exhibited at the Tokyo Geidai Museum; among others.
In 2021, Ghali Bouayad joined the Tokyo office of Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa / SANAA, while developing his practice, GBAARA.

ガリ・ボウアヤド（建築家、博士(美術)）2021年東京藝術大学美術研究科博士課程修了。パリ・ラ・ヴィレット建築大学修士課程修了。在学最終学年中に九州大学に留学。現在は日本を拠点に、建築、スペキュラティブ・ダイアグラム、ミクスト・リアリティ、ドローイングや評論の領域で活動を展開している。テクノロジーの美学、工芸、現象学への影響に対する関心をもとに、ポストデジタル建築時代における装飾概念に関する考察を行っている。
ボウアヤドの作品は国内外で展示され、様々な受賞歴がある。板橋アートスタジオ（2018年）、八幡市民会館リボーンコンペ2等（2015年）、文部科学省国費留学生採択（2017〜2021年）、建築学会主催銀茶会の茶席グランプリ審査員賞（2018年）、東京藝大美術館での展示（2020年）など。
2021年からは、妹島 和世と西沢 立衛のSANAAにて勤務している。
